Wickham streetscape gets a fresh new mural thanks to our NDIS participants

8 December 2020

Harbourside Takeaway in Hannell Street, Wickham is now home to a bright and engaging mural.

Dan Miller (AKA Graffiti Dan) approached the owners of Harbourside Takeaway at 76 Hannell Street, Wickham to enquire whether he and the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ NDIS Participants could create some artwork over the existing vandalism on the walls.

The shop owner agreed and so began the first community mural at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ.

Each art session at the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Wickham Centre, Dan would take the group of Participants and their support staff to spray sections of the mural. Whilst painting the mural, many passing community members and shop customers stopped to engage with our Participants where stories of the past were shared.

The project has increased the community’s awareness, recognition and inclusion of our Participants.
